i. Coffee
 
a) Contract coffee farming and management.
b) Development of improved coffee storage, drying, washing and handling facilities, including pallets, folk lifts, automation of hullers and conveyors
c) Modernization of coffee washing and washed beans
d) Investment in factories for processing instant coffee, soluble coffee and flavoured coffee

ii. Tea

a) Production and market diversification
b) Organic tea, single origin tea and tea branding represent enormous potential for value addition.
c) Packaging and Export

iii. Cocoa

a) Value added processing 
b) Small scale farming of cocoa
c) Expansion of cocoa farming in other districts

iv. Horticulture
 
a) Drying of fruits and vegetables. 
b) Investment in provision of fruit and vegetable seeds
c) Production of vanilla along inland lakes to meet increased demand for natural flavours
d) Developing irrigation for production of high value fruits and vegetables like bananas, avocados, French beans and fruits

v. Roots and Tubers
 
a) Large scale farming of Irish potatoes for local and export
b) Processing and packaging of Irish potatoes in various forms, e.g. crisps, flour.

vi. Oilseeds

a) Large scale production of oilseeds (groundnuts, sunflower, simsim, soya beans, castor seed and jatropha)
b) Processing animal feeds from oilseeds

vii. Floriculture

a) Investment to expand floriculture production in smallholder sector
b) Provision of specialized services to the industry, i.e.
- Audit and certification;
- Supply and service of greenhouse equipment and materials;
- Organic farming production and certifications;
- Provision of planting materials; and
- Upgrading the flower industry supply chain using ICT initiatives.

viii. Livestock Production

a) Commercial Ranching
b) Livestock marketing infrastructure (modern abattoir to cater for the demand for Tanzania and east, central and southern Africa)
c) Dairy production and processing: milk cooling and transport facilities; milk processing plants 
d) Meat production, processing and canning
e) Poultry farming: hatchery and breeding farms
f) Animal feeds production
g) Supply of drugs and chemicals for livestock
h) Livestock multiplication farms
i) Investments in production, processing and marketing of hides and skins from cattle, goats, sheep, ostrich and crocodile for production of various types of leather and leather goods.
j) Investing in tanneries using joint ventures approach with local partners in order to introduce modern technology and increase capacity utilization.
k) Footwear production for domestic and export markets.

ix. Agricultural and Livestock Research and Development
 
a) Investment in research and training institutions and facilities
b) Supply of equipment for training agricultural and livestock development and production
