Mbeya City is located in Southern party of Tanzania at latitude 80 50` - 80 57` south of Equator and Longitude 330 30` - 350 35` East of Greenwich. The City is almost surrounded by Mbeya District in all directions.

 

The availability of good roads, and railway lines, airport, telecommunication links, reliable water supply, and electricity power from Kidatu Hydropower stations in Iringa Region make Mbeya City a favorable and strategic location for investment. The City Council is committed to facilitate and expedite the processes involved in investment, including the acquisition of land and assist in arbitration, whenever needed.

The functions of the City as a Regional headquarters favor economic activities. The main areas of investment potentials identified include Industrial Development (Packaging and Processing industries), Tourism and Housing Estates, Commercial Service Centers (Supper Markets, Hotels, Hostels, Residential Housing and Conference rooms)
