Social Infrastructure The existing Situation Health ![]() The District has 1 Hospital (private) situated at Mbalizi Village, 3 Rural Health Centers (2 Government and 1 private) and 49 Dispensaries. All health facilities offer both curative and preventive services to the community, with an average of 10,000 people per health facility. About 85% of the total population has access to a health facility within a distance of 7 km. Water A total of 127,384 people (41.7% of population) have access to safe and clean water through water pipes, shallow wells and dams. There are 27 water supply schemes and 10 shallow wells Education The District had 156 primary schools with 69,919 (34,099 males and 35,820 females) pupils and 39 secondary schools (23 Government and 16 private) in 2008.
