TANESCO Mwakibete Sub-station 220/33KV Located in Sae Area, Mbeya City
 
Mbeya region is mainly supplied by the National Grid (220Kv) Transmission line from Kitadu Hydropower Station. The City’s electricity demand is 17.2 MW (megawatts). Despite the presence of standby generators, National grid power failures are however rare. Apart from industries; electricity is also used in commercial, institutions, domestic and public lighting purpose.
