Mbarali District Council is one of the eight councils that form Mbeya Region. The District was established on seventh July 2000 by the Local government Act No. 8 of 1982 as amended by Act No. 6 of 1999 and received certificate of registration on fifth June 2003. The District is along Dar – Mbeya tarmac road and Tanzania Zambia Railways Authority (TAZARA), therefore it is easily accessible. ![]() The Council aspires to be capable and efficient Local Government Authority to attain sustainable social and economic development to its people. Therefore, the District has committed to provide accessible quality services and create conducive environment (good governance) to enable its people to improve their livelihood and alleviate poverty through collaboration with other stakeholders. In order to achieve this challenging objective, the District believes that promotion of investment opportunities will have to create new jobs, bring about new skills and technologies, addition of new sources of revenue collection and at the same time maintaining conducive environment for mutual benefits. The District has potential strength towards achieving the stated vision, which includes availability of by-laws, human resources, good governance and good relationship with development partners, availability of potential areas of investment, availability of irrigation infrastructures, good transport and communication infrastructures and good government policies. Furthermore, the District has opportunities for all types of investments such as famous paddy production and developed irrigation agriculture, so it is potential in establishment of large shops for farm inputs, processing and packaging of farm products. Portion of the District area, more than 9,000 km2 has been annexed to Ruaha National park, so there is a potential for tourism activities. Other potentials include exploitation of minerals, provision of education services, financial services and other available natural resources. Lastly, the District Council has pleasure to invite all investors and business communities to come and invest in Mbarali. |

Mbeya Region has one of the fast growing economies in Tanzania. It has plenty of opportunities for investment ranging from agriculture, mining, manufacturing, transport, tourism, social services, infrastructure just to mention but a few.
The region has committed leadership to drive the process to achieve the goal of making the region the best investment destination in the country.
